What is Carbon Laser Peel?

Carbon laser peel — also marketed as Hollywood Peel, Carbon Laser Facial, or Spectra Peel — is a two-stage laser treatment using medical-grade liquid carbon and a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser. It's become one of BGC's most requested lunchtime procedures because of its immediate brightening effect and zero recovery time.

Here's how it works: A thin layer of liquid carbon is applied to the skin and allowed to dry. Carbon particles are small enough to penetrate into pores and bind to sebum, dead skin cells, and debris. The Nd:YAG laser is then passed over the skin in two modes — first heating and breaking down the carbon layer, then targeting residual particles at higher energy. This dual action clears pores, destroys P. acnes bacteria, and stimulates collagen production in the dermis.

Pore Reduction

Clears sebum and debris from enlarged pores — best results on nose and cheeks

Oil Control

Destroys sebaceous gland bacteria; reduces oiliness for 4–6 weeks post-session

Skin Brightening

Removes dead skin cell layer and superficial pigment for immediate radiance

Collagen Stimulation

Thermal effect activates fibroblasts — cumulative anti-aging benefit over sessions

Best Carbon Laser Clinics in BGC

What to Expect at a BGC Carbon Laser Session

  1. 1

Consultation + skin assessment (10 min)

Physician or trained aesthetician assesses skin type, active breakouts, and contraindications. Carbon laser is not recommended if you have active cystic acne or recent sun exposure.

  2. 2

    Cleanse and prep (5 min)

Skin is cleansed thoroughly and dried. No anesthesia is needed — the treatment is virtually painless.

  3. 3

    Carbon application (5 min)

Liquid carbon is applied evenly across the face and left to dry for 5 minutes. You'll feel a mild tightening sensation as it dries.

  4. 4

Laser pass #1 — carbon vaporization (10 min)

The Nd:YAG laser passes over the skin at low fluence, heating and vaporizing the carbon layer. You'll hear a gentle snapping sound and feel warmth. This removes dead skin and debris trapped in the carbon.

  5. 5

Laser pass #2 — deeper collagen stimulation (10 min)

A second pass at higher energy targets residual carbon particles and delivers thermal energy to the dermis. This stimulates collagen and targets sebaceous glands for oil control.

  6. 6

    Post-treatment care + SPF (5 min)

Soothing moisturizer and SPF 50+ are applied. You may return to work immediately. Avoid sun exposure for 48 hours.
